@viticci Can the iPad operate in clamshell mode when connected to an external monitor now?

@barley @sixcolors I think you mean “Pro not Air”
@sexyhermit You could always start playing something to the TV. I bet it would get secured pretty quickly.
@vincent Sync reading position.
@ChrisLawley There's always Micro.blog, which allows you to follow and interact with Mastodon folks, but (at least to me) is much more user-friendly.
@manton For some reason, I’m seeing this post (and a few others of yours) twice in my timeline, but can’t figure out why that is.
@mass_driver Very intriguing!
@siracusa Consider using your Micro.blog for mastodon. It allows you to follow and respond to folks on any mastodon server. (And the iOS app is good, and @gluon is great)
@ia Glad to see you here! (And testing the reply function via Micro.blog)
@kaa There’s really no app listed under the battery settings at all? It should at least list a bunch of apps, showing the battery percentage they use, their time on screen, and any background usage time. I’d suspect in the case of a fresh install that there’d be a lot of drain early on while photos and apps are re-downloaded and synced. Spotlight/mail/Siri indexing can take a lot of energy with a fresh install too. Oh, and for what it’s worth, there’s not problem with leaving the ipad plugged in overnight. I’ve done that for years.
@kaa What app do your battery settings say is causing the drain?
@vincent Glad to hear it! (And sorry to duplicate requests.) I'm very excited that you're rewriting for Apple platforms. I'd love for Gluon to be a poster-child for adoption of best native interface elements (much like I think NetNewsWire does for RSS).
@vincent A minor request for allowing different app icons on iOS. (Great feature to unlock as a bonus for tip jar payments)
@robertbrook I hadn't already seen them. At first glance, there's a lot of thought about how to do give additional semantic meaning to items using plain text—though many seem nearly as complex as the HTML they are intended to replace. But I need to dig a bit deeper to see what else is going on there.
@robertbrook Thanks. I'm usually a big fan of modern adaptations of older spaces. But there's something about the roofs that, to me, looks like they are being ripped up and off the buildings. I find that part unsettling.
@robertbrook Where is this? Fascinating architecture.
@tiffany Very cool. I've been going back and forth regarding upgrading internal storage ca just getting external. Did you upgrade RAM? Do it yourself? Love the look of your keyboard!
@tiffany looks awesome. Care to share what model you got? I'm also curious about which displays and keyboard you're using. (Considering a mini of my own)
@vincent I sometimes see messages being marked unread even when they aren't. It appears to be just a visual bug though. Switching to a different mailbox and back always clears up the issue for me. (And I suspect the visual glitch may be a timing issue based on viewing the email on a phone or iPad near the time it shows up on my Mac)
@macgreg The TiBook was the favorite Mac I’ve owned. Not the best. But definitely the most love-inducing. I was feeling particularly nostalgic given the resemblance of the 12.9 iPad with the keyboard cover to the TiBook
@kaa Consolidating to using a single folder for all text files? Or using a single app to access them?
@noah If you like type and new business models, check out Future Fonts. It's got some great designers and exciting projects.
@kaa with Drafts it's best to start small and add on only as you find new use cases. I started about where you are about 4 years ago. And now I have built a whole plain text time tracking system for myself using Drafts.
@V\_ Sort of, yes. If you type a client name incorrectly, but the mis-typed name is one of the aliases you've given to the client, then getClient
will recognize the alias as belonging to the client and will provide the correct name in its response.
On the other hand, if you type a client name incorrectly and the mis-typed name is not an alias, then getClient
will note that the mis-typed name doesn't match any client and will prompt you to correct the name.
@V\_ Thanks! The next post is up, but there will be at least a couple more to get the whole thing explained.
